To cope with the peak load during cold seasons the fleet of both the trucks and the stairs was increased 25%
Both the trucks and the stairs were equipped with EnSol Frost batteries
Battery performance in cold temperature was close to warm weather performance
The entire fleet was reduced by 20%
This project was developed over several years and became the most interesting and breakthrough in its field! It is about increasing the efficiency of luggage tow trucks and passenger stairs by powering them with lithium ENSOL batteries. The airport, where this technology was deployed was Moscow DOMODEDOVO airport.
Valentin Vlahov, deputy chief engineer of Domodedovo airport spoke about the history of the relationship between the two companies and the advantages of switching electrical equipment to lithium batteries. According to Valentin, in 2015 the EnSol lithium battery was tested on single passenger stairs. After the successful completion of the test it was decided to switch 26 pieces of equipment (24 baggage trailers and 2 passenger stairs) to EnSol lithium batteries.
As a result of the operation, the time for charging the passenger stairs decreased 6 times! If before the charge of single stairs took 12 hours, it took only 2 hours to fully charge EnSol lithium batteries.
And thanks to the frost-resistant feature of batteries, the technology works without delays even at a temperature of -40 degrees. In conditions of the Russian winter EnSol batteries provide constant availability and high productivity of transportation equipment.
In addition, Domodedovo closely monitors the environmental cleanliness of the airport area and always tries to introduce only "green" technology. EnSol batteries fully comply with the environmental standards of the airport.
